STEP YOUR GAME UP the first time I took that left from bridges - TopicsExpress

STEP YOUR GAME UP the first time I took that left from bridges onto Gatorback ...... The old pink double diamond sign and the words extremely difficult are intimidating . You take a deep breath , head for the bridge , you notice that the wood is spaced a little farther & then at the last second a root throws you off line alittle , you grip your bars & recover , now even more mindful of the water and the name ( Gatorback) . When I started riding Gatorback I was fearful of root clusters , & rocky descents , with that in mind I do what I feel comfortable with ,give it my all on those Rocky climbs , read the down hill , and plant my foot on approaching bumps on some if the thin ledges .My first time was maybe a 50% walk to ride ratio , Double diamond trails arent meant to be enjoyable , they are meant to be a challenge , & what may seem impossible to you now will become an enjoyable challenge as you get higher on the learning curve . So the first time you make the controlled fall from the top of the ridge , tackle the next climb , round that descending switchback and down the the next big hill , you begin to feel like a downhiller and that can be more enjoyable than any 25 mile blue trail
