STOP HAZARD,STOP CHELSEA ATTACKING THREAT??. Eden Hazard is undoubtedly a special talent&the sort of player that can win you titles, but have Chelsea become over-reliant on the Belgian to carry their attack this season?. Since Jose Mourinho returned to Stamford Bridge the Blues have elevated their status to potential title contenders,&Hazard is showing signs that he is beginning to believe he can one day achieve the level of a Cristiano Ronaldo or a Lionel Messi. The 23yrs-old has wowed the Chelsea faithful with his skills since his arrival last season&has already improved on his goal tally over his debut campaign at the club, but there’s a huge burden on his shoulders as the main man in the attack&his team-mates aren’t stepping up on the days Hazard isn’t shining. Hazard was instrumental in the victories over Man City&Newcastle United in the Premier League – demonstrating the damage he can do – but was not at the peak of his powers away at West Brom&was effectively nullified on Chelsea’s return to the Etihad Stadium in the FA Cup. Whilst Willian has been tremendous in his work ethic&Samuel Eto’o has demonstrated a good understanding with Hazard, neither are creating/scoring enough for the team&Oscar,Mourinho’s favoured #10,tends to lack a killer pass&has gone missing too often in recent months. Mourinho has done well to work around Chelsea’s lack of killer instinct so far this season but it’ll be something that will play on his mind as we enter the business part of the season. Ofcourse,Chelsea were missing a number of things in their most recent defeat vs City, such as the leadership&defensive organisation of a certain John Terry, but I worry that it’s up to Hazard to carry the attack all too often this season&the likes of Willian,Oscar,Eto’o,Fernando Torres,Andre Schurrle&newbieMohamed Salah need to step it up.
