STUDIO APARTMENT TO LET IN CHURCH LANE An inscription on one of the eight bells at St Peter & St Paul church in Tonbridge declares that ‘Music is Medicine to the Mind’. Bells four, five and six date back to 1774 while numbers one, two, three and seven were recast with the whole peal tuned and rehung by the Whitechapel Bell Foundry in 1952. According to the churchs website the Whitechapel Foundry has a passing connection with Tonbridge as the company took over Messrs Mears & Stainbank who originally cast the bells. Their Senior Partner, Alfred Silva Lawson, was a Past Master of the Skinners’ Company and a Governor of Tonbridge School. St Peter & St Paul Church is part of a group of four Anglican churches that serve the parish in north Tonbridge and in Church Lane which leads up to the historic building Martin & Co has a very reasonably priced studio apartment to let. It is tucked away in a very private location but still has the convenience of being within walking distance of the main high street. The apartment, which is approached through an attractive communal courtyard garden, is part furnished with bed, wardrobe, fridge, washer /drier and electric hob. The rental is 595pcm.
