Recording some awesome overdubs for a new R’nB tune written by Don Castagno, DON’T CHANGE IT UP. I decided to bring in Jay Stollman on this tune and do somewhat of a duet…. and then I had to bring in Scott Spray on bass! We call Scott the “bass player to the stars” as he’s backed up a lot of famous folks. His most noted gig of late is the last 13 years with Johnny Winter, and as I have been honored to join them on stage when Johnny was alive, and now be one of the special guests at the Johnny Winter Remembrance Shows, Scott has become a good friend! Scott has also toured and recorded with Jose Feliciano, Edgar winter, Ronnie Spector, Matt Guitar Murphy and many more. He has numerous film and television credits. The really amazing thing about Scott is that he carried on a conversation with Paul and I, having nothing to do with what he was laying down, while he was recording his bass track! I’d say quirky musical genius! Through this same project, I met Jay, who is the lead singer for the Johnny Winter Remembrance Shows, and worked closely in the studio helping to produce Jay’s first solo album (and of course playing on it) which will also be released next year! We are now brother and sister! Here’s a little sneak peak for ya!
