SUCCESS FOR PEGASUS RIDERS AT RDA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS! Riders from the Morpeth RDA Group achieved great success in the three-day RDA National Championships, with three of our riders becoming National Champions. Two of the successes came in show-jumping competitions whilst the other success came in the Countryside Challenge and Combined Training disciplines. The show-jumping successes were particularly impressive as we only started offering show-jumping this year. Eight riders from the Pegasus Centre were amongst the hundreds of competitors from across the country who took part in the three-day RDA National Dressage Championships Hartpury in Gloucestershire, the largest event of its kind in the world with over 450 competitors. Robyn Rowntree won the RDA Level 1 Show-Jumping Junior competition on ‘Domino’ whilst Stefan Storey won the RDA Level 2 Show-Jumping Senior competition on ‘Lily’. Their success was followed by Lilian Orde who won her classes in the Introduction to Dressage Walk and Trot and the Combined Training competitions, riding ‘Lily’. Other Morpeth RDA Group riders who took part in the National Championships were Sarah Brooks (who gained a distinction in a horse-care and knowledge competition), Ryan Gillespie, Derek Cleminson (who achieved two Second places and a Fifth place in different classes), Jess Scott, and James Middleton (who achieved a two Third places and a Fourth place in different classes). To round off a great weekend art-work submitted by local rider Chloe Wyatt achieved a fifth place in her class in the Arts and Crafts Competition.
