SUCCESSFUL SENIOR NIGHT SMYRNA BULLDOGS 56 - STEWARTS CREEK 13 The Smyrna High School Bulldogs pretty much dominated tonights ball game, scoring on their first three possessions with drives of 52, 48 and 51 yards on their way to a 42-0 halftime lead and never looked back. It was a chilly night on the gridiron; but, Smyrna turned up the heat from the opening kickoff and the talent level difference between the Bulldogs and first year Red Hawks was decisive. The 2013-2014 Senior Night for Smyrna proved to be eventful as the Bulldogs were able to play all their seniors and pretty much open up the playing field to the entire roster with underclassmen gaining valuable experience in their final home game. Smyrna hopes to extend their strong defensive effort that held the red hawks without a first down until midway through the third quarter across county to square off against the Riverdale Warriors hoping to up their record to 7-3 and a possible shot off obtaining an at-large invitation to the playoffs in their final game of the season. Riverdale will also be coming off a 21-19 victory over Seigel who had beaten the Bulldogs earlier this season when the Star kicker missed a 21 yard potential game winning field goal on the games last play hooking it left of the uprights. Since their 9-7 playoff win over the Warriors on their way to the 2006 State Championship Title, Smyrna has pretty much held their own against the once dominating Riverdale team.
