SUG PRESIDENT PREACHES LOVE FOR ONE ANOTHER The president, Students Union Government, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Comrade Noble Eyisi has stressed the need for brotherly Love in the university community. The President expressed this when he shoved the comfort of his bed aside, together with some members of his cabinet to rush to an accident scene involving a registered bus with the institution late in the night. The ghastly accident which occurred close to the popular White house which hitherto housed the Post Primary SSC was between a blue Toyota Sienna SUV with registration number- FST 708 BV and a bus with Registration number as XJ 234 NSH and DOT number 178K. An eye witness and 400l student in the department of Estate Management of the institution who identified himself as Mr. Ibeh Michael said that it was a miracle as no life was lost. In his words, The driver of the Sienna who lost control as a result of the head on collision veered off into the drainage canal. The Siena driver came out unhurt. The driver of the bus ran away even as the passenger who appeared to be in his late 50s sitting at the passengers seat who had some bruises was taken to Anambra State University Teaching Hospital, Awka by some military personnel. The president who arrived the accident scene at about 9:40pm after inspecting the level of impact, made straight for ANSUTH to visit the injured passenger. At the hospital, the passenger who identified himself as Mr. Echebi Anthony, the new secretary, Drivers welfare, thanked God for sparing his life in what could have claimed his life. He praised Comr. Eyisi for his exceptional care and love even to the drivers notwithstanding the misunderstanding few weeks back. In his remark, the president stressed the need for brotherly love to exist in the university not withstanding whether the situation affects a student, staff or driver. He prayed for the quick recovery of the injured passenger and even went an extra mile to offsetting his hospital bills. The President reiterated that the safety of the students is always paramount to his administration while urging the drivers who ferry students within and outside the university to drive carefully.
