SUMMER NEWSLETTER Barry Anderson’s single channel video installation Pigeon is on view at the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art through November 2nd. Anderson will give a lecture on The Janus Restraint series at the Kemper on June, 27th. https://kemperart.org/exhibits/current.asp The short films from the Janus Restraint with live music by Monta At Odds will show at the Free State Film Festival in Lawrence, KS on June, 28th. Bankston will be featured in a solo show at the Krasl Art Center in St. Joseph, MI that will open in January 2015. krasl.org/ Carolyn Castaño is having a solo exhibition at Meridian Gallery in San Francisco through June 28th. The work featured includes large format Narco Venus paintings which made their debut at Walter Maciel Gallery in 2012. Also included are smaller works on paper displaying floating heads of famous drug lords amidst gardens filled with cannabis, poppy and cocoa plants. Castaño was included in a public dialog about her work with Renny Pritikin, the Chief Curator of San Francisco’s Contemporary Jewish Museum on June 12th at Meridian Gallery as part of their June Benefit Series. Jim Christensen opened his new show J.A.
