SUNSHINE THEATRE Art is a French-language play by Yasmina Reza that premiered on 28 October 1994 at Comédie des Champs-Élysées in Paris. The English-language adaptation, translated by Christopher Hampton, opened in Londons West End on 15 October 1996, starring Albert Finney, Tom Courtenay and Ken Stott, produced by David Pugh and Sean Connery, and ran for eight years. This August, Sunshine Theatre presents this Tony Award winning play, in English translation by Christopher Hampton.Well known in the area for successful shows like The Drawer Boy and The Cripple of Innishmaan, it is with pleasure Sunshine Theatre brings together three very talented actors in this funny and witty play. Frank Fontaine, well known for his work in movies such as Journey to the Centre of the Earth, The Bone Collector, The Sum of All Fears and Nuremberg among others, has worked with Doug Hooper in Theatre Lac Brome’s Buoyant Billions. Ralph Steiner is well-known for his role of Hank Williams in Honky Tonk Blue: the story of Hank and Patsy. Kate Wisdom directs this accomplished cast of professional actors assisted by Stage Manager, Danny McAuley.
