SUPER EXCITED! Non-conference football always creates interesting match ups! I was excited to have plans to attend 6A Midwest City vs. 5A Carl Albert next week. Two powerhouses from the West side of the state, each of which have plenty of STATE championships and each of which will have great defenses this year (unlike most people I like defense over offense). This non-conference game has all the story line you could ask for. Two great programs, cross-town rivals, big school/smaller school and the FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS. BUT this morning I received a text inviting me to attend a non conference game with an even better story line so I will cancel those plans and instead get to attend OKLAHOMA vs. TENNESSEE! Big 12 vs. SEC, Boomer Sooner vs. Rocky Top, Crimson vs. Orange (hint Orange seldom wins in Norman!!!!) and the best part is that I get to go with a great girl who loves (and understands) sports. Ive said it before, but they dont call me Lucky John for no reason! BOOMER!
