SURAT (SOUL) IS ATTRACTED TO SHABDA FROM A DISTANCE Surat means soul. The bell sound is Shabd. When the soul hears the bell sound, it likes it and loves it. On hearing it, the mind and the soul begin to stay inside but the Sound will not lift them up because they are not in its magnetic sphere. It is heard from a distance and has no pulling power. Therefore, one has to go to it by crossing the stars, the sun, and the moon with the help of repetition (Simran), and stay there with the help of Dhyan (seeing the Inner Light). The lifting of the soul to higher regions is the business of Shabd. The Master gives help and guidance, and Shabd lifts up. If there is no lift, there is not much good in hearing the Shabd from a distance. The hearer is in Pind (the physical plane) and the Shabd comes from Anda (the Astral Plane). The hearer has no control over it. (Sawan Singh. Spiritual Gems. RSSB 1958/1996. Pg. 323) Yours in the LightSong of Eternal Love, Michael spiritualfreedomsatsang.org - Michaels Blog
