SWACHH BHARATH ABHIYAN INITIATED AT KVK Honourable Prime minister’s call for Clean India (Swachh Bharath) initiated at KVK (Ernakulam) on 2nd October 2014 9:30 AM during Gandhi Jayanthi. The programme was commenced by taking cleanliness oath (Swachh Bharath shapath). Subsequently office and its premises were cleaned by the Programme coordinator and staff of KVK. The KVK team also cleaned mangrove forests located by the side of the backwaters in KVK campus. Huge quantity of plastic wastes removed from the rootzone of mangrove ecosystem which is the natural habitat and breeding space for brackishwater fish species. In this context we call for keeping mangrove ecosystem clean while conserving it. On this historic day, we urge all our partner farmers, collegues and all citizens of our country to work towards a Clean India.
