SWEET DREAMS MAMA BEAR Lately I have been having dreams of Mama - TopicsExpress

SWEET DREAMS MAMA BEAR Lately I have been having dreams of Mama Bear. More like kinetic impulses triggering an archived genetic memory. Is it because thousands of years ago, in the dawn of civilization, we humans also slipped into cave-like hibernation as we sat out the long, harsh winters? For me, bears have an added significance. As a teenager, I took one year from college and went to live in the Canadian Rockies. During the summer I camped and hiked; come late fall, I settled in a log-cabin (built pre-war time) for the entire winter. I chopped my own wood every day until I was snowed in. Friends of the neighborhood wilderness came to visit me. Coyotes, elk, moose (on rare sightings!), foxes, wolves, caribou, and of course, the bears. By late Oct/early November, they were ransacking my garbage can. The park ranger had to come out to teach the few scattered residents how to keep safe, and to never provoke or approach the bears. It was a warm summer that year, and the bears had to venture down to lower terrain to forage for food before they packed it up for winter. Finally, after several weeks of bear party (including a gathering of several tens of brown bears, black bears and grizzlies), the rangers tranquilized a bunch of them and carted them from our area (6,500 feet) up to higher ground for their winter sleep. I had magical encounters with the Bears, and the memory is instant, in the firing of a neural synapse. Such an ancient, intense and powerful archetype. Here are a few snippets from my FB buddies on the Bears. I am sure you will be inspired and enjoy them. Maybe Mama Bear will come to gently paw you one of these nights... The Druids associated the Pole Star of the constellation of the Great Bear, to King Arthur (whose name means Bear). During the Winter Solstice, the darkest night, the Pole Star guides us. Thus, when our world appears negative, dark and confused, when our physical senses and reason and logic seem to fail us, when it feels there is no path to follow, we go with-in to discover our deepest resources, and the light of inner knowing and intuition aids us in finding our way home.-Whistlin Wind The female bear gives birth to the cubs while asleep. Due to this Bear is regarded as a symbol of the deepest inner wisdom, of the dreamtime and transformation. When giving ourselves over to sleep we become receptive to the Great Mother who nurtures us. As we delve deep into our identities and lose our egos, going back to our primal and elemental natures, we find we are part of Infinity and of All That Is/The Universe/One. The coldest star, the Pole star, guides us to dream, to hibernate and restore. I have been told by a powerful dear friend that my story will align with King Arthur. The Great Bear, he is the New King within us all, the masculine energy that will embrace the Divine feminine, restoring balance in the collective one, the universe within us all. As we move into the darkness, winter solstice, may the stars guide us and may we be steered by love. Recognize the intuitive guidance that the mother offers us in all moments. And follow the inner wisdom of the bear, honoring our cycles and rhythms.-Rachael Lanehart Vaessen shamanicjourney/article/6002/bear-power-animal-symbol-of-strength-introspection-knowledge-dreamtime-and-transformation
