Saad Jagranvi made an interesting comment on an article regarding the oppression of Muslims in Xinjang: Interestingly, more than Uyghurs, there are more Chinese Hui Muslims and those from Gansu and many other parts of China. They are provided the least economic opportunities. Even in a trading City like Guangzhou you find them either working as a motorcycle rickshaw driver or selling barbecue on the road side. While Islam seems to be expanding in China at an exorbitant rate, the Muslims are clearly oppressed. I believe Islam will spread rapidly in China as soon as Khilafah is established in Asia beacause the Chinese are fed up and their clear resentment towards the bureaucratic capitalist ruling class has created the needed political vacuum. They have been looking for a way out post Mao rule and Islam may be the best and possibly the only option for their way out of the oppressive current status quo.
