Sable Avenue Closed Monday-Tuesday The Central Weld County Water District is making progress on repairs to the water supply lines coming into the Carbon Valley area. They have completed a 20-inch temporary water supply line that connects to the main 36-inch line feeding the area. The line will be disinfected throughout the weekend. On Monday, Sept. 23, CWCWD will have to de-chlorinate the line, resulting in a temporary closure on Sable Avenue. The road closure from Devonshire Avenue to Colorado Boulevard will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday and last through Tuesday at 12 p.m. The flushing will take approximately 20 hours to complete as chlorine levels must reach Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards. The hydrant at the northeast corner of Sable Avenue and Colorado Boulevard will be utilized to stretch hoses across the road to flow into the detention pond at Central Park. Throughout this process, the current water supply to Firestone is safe to drink and will not be interrupted by this water flushing of the new temporary line. ci.firestone.co.us/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=72
