•…∆…• Sacred Buildings have always been based upon number. However megalithic structures are today looked upon as ceremonial and little else. While the counting of astronomical time periods revealed that numbers have properties and develop geometrical competence, the field of number provided the foundation for numerical science like arithmetic, geometry, musical harmony and astronomy. From this foundation a full numerical worldview would have been possible, one that found its fullest expression within the design, location and structure of ancient monuments. Metrology became the medium for applying this number knowledge to earth itself, its size and shape, and the location and design of the monuments built upon it. The foot thus represents a masterful solution to the problem of finding the perfect ruler in the sense of a metrological root for Earths design- a god-ruler of creation itself and its plan. If the day length is measured upon the equator, then the first task is to see how time translates into length at the equator. This gives the necessary objectivity to a unit of length intended to relate the celestial sphere to Earth. The rotation of Earth "cuts up" the solar year, which is its orbital period, 365,242 times in units of days. If the equator is divided into 365,242 pieces, which could be called " angular days"( being in fact the angle traveled by the Sun in one day), then the unit of length is again measurable. The English foot was taken to be 1/1000 of 1/360 of a day´s angle on the equator (and not a fraction of degree of longitud ) A foot that had not been derived from a cosmic dimension would have been arbitrary and rootless. Once established in this way the foot related every monument built using it to the cosmic and made the building process a recapitulation of the cosmic act.
