Sadly offered for sale 8 year old bay, 16.2hh, Thoroughbred gelding, tattoo matched to a horse named ‘Vif Argent’, only raced once at 3, retired sound. Built like a warmblood, this guy has scope and talent! He moves larger then his size suggests, we like to call him the 17h Thoroughblood. He has free jumped up to 3’9 and undersaddle up to 2’9 (he has jumped the course set up in the grass ring in the flat video), and the only reason he hasn’t gone higher is because we don’t have a lot of riders here that jump higher then that! He’s got potential for 3’6 or more under saddle when in shape! He would make a lovely hunter OR jumper, and has placed well in a few hunter flat classes this past summer! He is the same at a show as he is at home! He trailers well, though he does not seem to like step up trailers and gets nervous if ‘trapped’ in a slant load (rides perfect in the back slot). He is a perfect rider on straight loads and loads super easy on ramps. He is currently a little bit out of shape, but when in shape he does do his lead changes. Right now he gets the front but not the back immediately (shown in the flat video and the undersaddle jumping video). He has never refused a jump undersaddle and goes forward with a desire to please. He can get a little fresh if he hasn’t been ridden in a while (as shown in the flat video second direction canter), but what he did in the video is about as bad as it gets and when he’s in regular work, this doesn’t occur. He is one of the sweetest geldings I’ve ever worked with, and he loves to cuddle while you’re standing around, I fully accredit this horse with saving my riding career and bringing my confidence up beyond anything I ever hoped. He is a clean legged, beautiful boy and I’m sad to let him go, but he loves to jump and I’m a dressage rider. I am asking $5500 right now, which I believe is underpriced, especially since I am including his blankets (rain sheet, fly sheet, cotton sheet and 300g fill turnout) all in excellent condition, worth at least $300 on their own.
