Sadly today when updating my Etsy shop I came across pretty much a carbon copy of my Batgroom and Bride Cake Toppers. The really sad thing is that I knew that one day this would come, as such is the way in this business and industry. Being creative is absolutely not copying other peoples work. I appreciate the idea of Batgroom is not solely mine, and also that they are in the grey area of fan art. But when I created my toppers well over a year ago this design was unique to me, as it was created by me. Yes I drew inspiration from other peoples work. I looked at how other Artists had tackled the brief, but the end product was in my style and had my creative input. I have no issue with people being inspired by my work, I find it flattering. I see other Artists influences in my own work. I do however take huge issue with people copying my designs, and other Artists designs for that matter. I hope that all you fellow crafters understand where I am coming from. Please come up with items unique to you and your style. Dont copy its just not cricket. Gemma X
