SaharaTV Sound Off: Powerful Forces Highjacked Nigerias Student Unions - Dr. Adeleke Otunuga Dr. Adeleke Otunuga, the former Student Union Executive, at The University of Lagos (UNILAG 1993-1994) spoke to SaharaTV about the current state of Nigerias student unions. Adeleke explained that unlike the unions of his era, the Nigerian student unions of today lack passion. We had the passion, said Adeleke. These days people are in it for reasons contrary to what the reasons are suppose to be, he said. Adeleke made references to the National Association Of Nigerian Students (NANS,) and suggested that the group is powerless, and are in need of mentorship from the leaders of his generation.
