Salam Ladies and friends of Neesa The Neesa Project is planning - TopicsExpress

Salam Ladies and friends of Neesa The Neesa Project is planning an event for Hate Free Norfolk. We are hoping to make a short film or audio recording to show to an invited audience in October 2014. We are looking for people to share their stories with us in a hope that it will give agencies such as the police, social servcies, NHS etc an insight to how racially motivated offences on Muslim women, children and other ethnic minorities effects them both short term and long term - you do not have to be in the film but willing for us to take notes of your story. To give an example - Last year my son (then aged 5) was shoved out of the way with a shopping trolley in a supermarket, the person pushing the trolley made it quite clear that he did it because we were Muslims. The effect on my son was that he did not want to go back to the shop and spoke about it for many months - for me I have become very cautious about where we go and our interactions with people we dont know. I know that many women here in Norwich have been victims of racially motivated offences and it is our chance to help put a stop to these kind of crimes. InchAllah I hope you can help with this project. Please contact me in confidence if you are willing to be a part of it. Many thanks - Salam Hajira
