Sally was the first farm animal that was able to spend time with. - TopicsExpress

Sally was the first farm animal that was able to spend time with. David and I picked her up from a Santa Clara shelter just 3 months after moving to Rescue Ranch, on a dreary rain day. Sally was extremely stubborn, and never did anything that she did not want to do. If Sally was getting into something that she shouldn’t and you tried to get her stop, you could always expect to get the same reaction from her. She would hit the ground, lay flat on her stomach with little legs stretched out and proceed to let out the loudest squeal like you just caused her a tremendous amount of harm. It was so, so, endearing. She would accompany us on walks, flop over upon greeting us so that we could rub her belly, and would stroll into the house like she lived there. Sally reinforced my veganism. I think that anyone who becomes close with individual animals has a difficult time thinking of those who are similar, but less fortunate. I think of the over 1,000,000,000 individual personalities, Sally’s, who are killed every year so humans can eat bacon. It’s unfathomable to me. So go vegan. For Sally, and for the over 9 billion unique, individuals slaughtered annually. RIP sweet pig
