Samuel Peters was a former world heavyweight champion. I remember - TopicsExpress

Samuel Peters was a former world heavyweight champion. I remember listening to sports analysts talking about how Peters short and thick neck helps him in taking and absorbing a punch. They talk up this attribute in Peters to the extent that I felt he was going to last long as an heavyweight champion. But just a serious and coordinated challenger after (in the name of Vitali Klitschko), Samuel Peters dreams (and the obvious hype Nigerians and his team have built around him) went up in smokes. Just like Samuel Peters, the emergence of one serious opposition party is putting the PDP through great pangs. If the PDP were as strong as they mouth themselves to be why did they try every trick in the book to stop the APC from registering? If they are strong, why did their attack dogs (Okupe, Metuh, Abati) go into overdrive when APC finally got registered? Why did the emergence of APC made an elderly man like Okupe deny that he is his fathers son publicly? If they are that strong, why did Tambawals defection cause a ruckus in the party? If the party is strong enough to rule Nigeria for 60 years, why are they jittery over 2015? Theyre practically shitting their pants all because of the APC. lol Just like analysts thought Samuel Peters can take punch,.........but not the Vitali Klischko kind of punch. So, the PDP was all hype after all? Personally, I may not fancy everything about the APC, but any matured politician or political analyst will be happy at the emergence of a strong and virile opposition in a democracy. Plus, APCs doggedness, drive and focus to effectively rival and to probably knock the PDP off their perch, is to say the least, impressive. Whats left now is for them to make use of the peoples mandate wherever and whenever they get it. Whichever way it is, Im loving it!
