#Sarcasm Found on a lighter note: I am incredulous at the demand from some sections to restrain/remove the VC of Pondicherry University on the frivolous allegation that she has copied. Those voicing this demand have no interest in the welfare of teachers, and students. How can anything but grateful thanks, unswerving loyalty, unquestioning obedience, and shashtaang pranaam be offered to this VC for having shown everyone the path to good health, peace, and prosperity? Following her footsteps the students can now be liberated from the degrading ordeal of sitting through boring lectures and the debilitating nervous tension they are made to suffer every now and then in the name of mid-term tests and end-semester exams. Now all this dehumanizing ordeal can cease. The entire examination can be computerized, with a terminal for each examinee. They will see the online question, download the previously prepared answer, club the two and sign off. Then the evaluators will key-in 100% marks to all. Pre-programmed grade sheet will print results with A+ grades to everyone in every subject. Once computerized the whole process can be repeated for every exam thus saving wastage of paper and other resources. For the uplift of weaker students who may not know how to match question with answer, a helpmate can be provided. Benefits to faulty can be even greater. No more wasting precious public funds in doing experiments, writing papers and books, going for seminars, etc. Thanks to the illustrious example set by this VC, the faculty can henceforth be spared of all this redundancy. When so much material is already there in other’s books and papers, and technology has given us the ability to find it and reproduce it, what is the sense in publishing new work? When the world is full of the work of Nobel Laureates, Field Medalists, etc, what worth is your or my work anyway? Except waste of time and energy? This VC has shown us the path which can save us all from wasteful indulgence. The long-suffering non-teaching staff will also get lifted from the mire of endless petition-reading, note-making, reply sending, and faculty-curse-braving. Recruitment Cells can no longer drain their energies in verifying the details of applicants. Henceforth self-declaration, with as untraceable information as one can give, can be accepted and, based on the intuitive judgment of the VC, as seconded by the other members of the Selection Committee, new faculty can be appointed. If, purely by intuition, one can pick a Director or a Registrar, as this VC has done, why go through all the screening and interviewing for lesser posts? Good health, peace, and prospearity will reign. There will be 100% social justice as the peon and the professor will both be able to sleep in their respective chairs while the students will eat and play to improve their heath, thereby building a strong nation. No wonder a shady organization has recently crowned this VC as an AMBASSADOR OF PEACE!!!
