Sardauna Foundation donates relief materials to victims of Baga, Bama crises The Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation yesterday donated relief materials to victims of the Boko Haram insurgency in Baga and Bama towns of Borno State. Our correspondent reports that the items include 1000 bags of Semovita, 500 pieces of fabrics, 500 mats and 280 mattresses among others. A member of the Board of Trustees of the foundation, Alhaj Asheikh Jarma, who presented the materials to Governor Kashim Shettima in Maiduguri said the gesture was aimed at minimizing the suffering of the victims. Jarma, a one- time governor of Borno State, said the foundation was concerned about the “catastrophic” loss of lives and property occasioned by the lingering crisis confronting the state. “We also call on the Federal Government to do all it can to come to the aid of the millions of innocent civilians entrapped in the vortex of violence. We strongly feel that there should be adequate provision of humanitarian services to avert any humanitarian crisis”, he said. - Daily Trust We appreciate your concern.
