Satan is the king of “If”. He will try to get you to - TopicsExpress

Satan is the king of “If”. He will try to get you to question what you know is the truth of the Word by inserting that little word. He did the same thing to Jesus. Matthew 4:1-3 New King James Version (NKJV) 4 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. 3 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” The devil cut right to the heart of the matter with Jesus. “If you are the Son of God…” Jesus knew in His heart He was. Yet, the devil tempted Him to doubt. “Well, that was Jesus. There was no way He was going to fall for that.” Don’t forget Jesus was God but He was also very much man. If there were not the chance that He could fall for the devil’s trap then it would not really be a temptation would it? Yet, the Word says He was tempted. However, instead of yielding to the temptation He answered it with the Word. Matthew 4:4 New King James Version (NKJV) 4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’” Over and over again the devil peppered Jesus with “If” and Jesus answered Him with the Word of God. Friend, when you are standing on the Word the devil will do his level best to get you to question it. “What IF you really aren’t healed by the stripes of Jesus?” “What IF you really aren’t saved by what Jesus did at the Cross?” “What IF it wasn’t enough to fix what you have done?” When He tries this that is the time for you to answer Him with the Word of God. The Word answers, “IF” with “It is written!” You keep doing that and the devil will flee you just like he did Jesus. Mace
