Saturday September 21 2013. Luke 7:28, I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.” Lord Jesus, speak to me. As I meditate on this verse this morning I can’t help thinking, this verse will never fly in today’s society. Among the I generation who is entitled to every and anything, this idea is not even thought of let alone considered a life style. I heard a commercial on the radio last night that said: “We, in Southern California are defined by the car we drive.” I can only imagine what would happen if I suggested that instead of spending $40, 000 dollars on a car, should spend $15,000 on a car and use the rest to help those in need. Father I need a reality re-adjustment. I read last week that $25 would feed 5 kids for a week in an impoverished nation. It is hard to conceive of what $25,000 could do. Yet that is a reality that is hard for me to comprehend. I tend to complain about how little I make and how hard I have to work for it. I am out of touch with reality. Work in my life. Cause me to be content with what you have provided for me. Amen.
