Saturday night, May 17, 2014, my wonderful wife Wendy Harris was awarded the Mandy Lacombe Award at the Carnival Ticket Sales Committee, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, final diner and party. The Carnival Ticket Sales Committee is the number one organization that raises money for the Houston Rodeo Scholarship Fund. This year, it raised over $7,400,000. The Carnival Ticket Sales Committee recognized Wendy for her superior attitude, performance and service with a smile. Wendy, you were nominated by more than one person and for all the same reasons. You were always there to help and support, no matter what team a person was on. You always give everyone you come across, your smile and encouraging words. You belong to the Committee, not just your Team. Said Tony Burt, Carnival Ticket Sales Committee Chairman. The Mandy LaCombe Award is Carnival Ticket Sales most prestigious award. Wendy has been a volunteer with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo since 1990, 10 years on the Carnival Ticket Sales Committee. She is a lifetime Committee Member and a Lifetime Member of the Houston Rodeo. She has numerous awards over the years in sales, cshe has badged ten straight years, (sales over $5000) buckled nine straight years (sales of over $10,000), she has achieved Diamond Club for the past two years (sales over $25,000). The sales of these tickets go to the youth of the State of Texas as scholarships. She was immensely surprised Saturday Night and received a standing ovation of her peers. I was so proud of her. I know how hard she has worked and the number of hours she has put into Carnival Ticket Sales. I seldom see her from Jan till the Rodeo is over in March. I call her award...Her Awesome Trophy
