Save Our Souls - Braila 001030 - Your share may save its life! Can you resist to see so much misery? If not, get involved! To alleviate the suffering to the one close to you, man or beast is what defines us as humans! . According to the agreement between Dog Rescue Romania and the city hall of Braila, we can now manage the adoptions at distance from the Lacu Sarat and Unirea shelters. As they do not want to kill the stray dogs, the local authorities try their best to save them by offering them for adoption (direct or at distance). If you wish to save the dogs, you have the following options: 1. You can adopt the dog at distance and it will remain in the Lacu Sarat shelter. This way it will escape the immediate danger of being euthanized. The monthly fee for the adoption at distance for one dog is 95 lei (~ 22 euro). This sum will be paid to the municipality. The dog will be cared for by our volunteers and by the shelter vet and employees. We will also try to improve the shelter conditions. 2. You can adopt the dog at distance and it will be taken to the Dog Rescue private shelter from Bucharest. The monthly cost is 50 euros. The animal will be offered much better conditions, will be cared for by the shelter employees and will be under permanent medical supervision. In addition to this, the employees and volunteers walk and train the dogs, socialize with them and work on their physical and psychological recovery. 3. You can adopt the dog directly. If you cannot take the dog directly from the shelter (in case you don’t live in Braila), the dog will stay in adoption at distance in the Lacu Sarat shelter until a group of 10 adopted dogs will be formed. Then the animals will be transported to the private shelter from Bucharest. As this might take 2 or 3 weeks, you will have to pay the fee only for the first month of adoption at distance. If the adoption is international, the dog will spend 21 days at Dog Rescue in Bucharest. During this period, all formalities will be done and the dog will be prepared to go to the adopter. We estimate that, in order for us to organize and develop the activity of rescuing stray dogs from public shelters, we are in need of a monthly budget of about 1000-1200 euros. This budget will sustain the followings costs: - Gas and other transportation costs; - Extra food, treatments and supplies for the dogs; - Communication costs (internet and phone); - Pay of the person that will ensure posts and that will keep track of the adopters; - Accounting of the funds received and paid by the city hall; - Other paperwork - Discount the volunteers’ transportation; - Pay for extra care takers (4 employees x 100 euros/month); - Bank commissions; - Other unforeseen expenses. Any contribution made by you, in order to sustain these transparent costs, is more than welcomed. These expenses have as a unique goal the salvage of stray dogs and the improvement of their current life conditions! The Save our “Souls Braila Project” for rescuing stray dogs from being euthanized in shelters can be a model of success of managing responsibly and as humanly possible the issue of stray dogs, that can later on be standardized and applied to all public shelters in the country, without staining our hands with innocent blood and our conscience with the guilt of committing criminal and cruelty acts! În baza parteneriatului dintre Dog Rescue România şi Primăria oraşului Brăila am reuşit să obţinem managementul activităţii de adopţie la distanţă a câinilor din adăposturile Lacu Sarat şi Unirea, ale oraşului Brăila. Pentru că nu se doreşte uciderea câinilor fără stăpân, autorităţile din Brăila fac tot posibilul să îi salveze şi ne pun la dispoziţie adăposturile publice ale oraşului pentru a organiza activităţile de adopţie directă şi de adopţie la distanţă. Taxa lunară de adopţie la distanţă pentru un câine din adăpost, stabilită de Consiliul Local Brăila, este de 95 lei (~ 22 euro) Pentru a reuşi să salvăm vieţile câinilor fără stăpân şi pentru a organiza cât mai bine activitatea de adopţie la distanţă a câinilor din adăposturile oraşului Brăila vă propunem următoarele variante: 1. Puteţi adopta la distanţă şi câinele va rămâne la adăpostul Lacu Sărat. Câinele ales de dumneavoastră scapă de pericolul imediat de a fi eutanasiat. Costul salvării câinelui este de 95 lei/luna (~ 22 euro), bani care vor fi plătiţi primăriei. Câinele va fi îngrijit de către voluntarii noştri şi de către angajaţii şi medicul adăpostului. El va beneficia de condiţile pe care le vedeţi iar voluntarii noştri se vor strădui să le îmbunătăţească; 2. Puteţi adopta la distanţă şi câinele va fi luat din adăpostul public şi dus în adăpostul privat Dog Rescue din Bucureşti. Costul lunar al cazării câinelui în adăpostul privat este de 50 euro. Condiţiile de viaţă ale câinelui în adăpostul privat sunt foate bune, câinele va beneficia de îngrijirea efectuată de către angajaţii adăpostului şi de supravegherea medicală permanentă făcută de medicul adăpostului. În plus, angajaţii şi voluntarii se ocupă de plimbarea câinilor, socializare şi recuperarea fizică şi psihică a lor. 3. Puteţi adopta câinele în mod direct. În acest caz, câinele va sta în adopţie la distanţă în adăpostul Lacu Sărat din Brăila până când se va forma un lot de 10 câini adoptaţi care vor fi transportaţi la adăpostul privat din Bucureşti. Durata de şedere în adăpostul din Brăila, după adopţie, este de 2-3 săptămâni, timp în care se plăteşte primăriei taxa de adopţie la distanţă aferentă primei luni. Durata de şedere în adăpostul privat Dog Rescue din Bucureşti este de 21 de zile, dacă adopţia va fi internaţională. În acest timp, câinelui i se vor face toate formalităţile şi va fi pregătit pentru a ajunge la adoptator. Pentru a putea organiza şi desfăşura activitatea de salvare a câinilor fără stăpân din adăposturile publice ale oraşului Brăila, estimăm că vom avea nevoie de un buget lunar de cca. 1000 - 1200 euro care va susţine următoarele costuri: benzină + cheltuieli de transport, hrană în plus pentru câini, tratamente şi consumabile pentru câini, internet, telefon, comisioane bancare, plata persoanei care asigură postările şi tine evidenţa adoptatorilor, contabilizează fondurile primite şi plătite către primărie, alte acte, decontarea deplasării voluntarilor, plata extra îngrijitori (4 angajaţi x 100 euro/lună), comisioane bancare, alte cheltuieli neprevăzute. Orice contribuţie făcută de dumneavoastră este binevenită pentru a susţine aceste costuri transparente, care au ca scop unic salvarea vieţilor câinilor fără stăpân şi îmbunătăţirea condiţiilor de trai ale lor!
