Saving Franklin Zoo Charitable Trust The Animal - TopicsExpress

Saving Franklin Zoo Charitable Trust The Animal Connection As many of you may know, I have been working for the last few months on an amazing new project. In July, I established a Charitable Trust, in the aim securing the old Franklin Zoo site, and creating a new future for this precious place. You may recall that the zoo was closed down, when the owner, Dr Helen Schofield was tragically killed by her elephant Mila. The trust aims to raise enough money to purchase the land, and create a new safe haven for vulnerable animals, called The Animal Connection. We have worked so hard to come up with a plan to try and save this beautiful piece of land for all New Zealanders to enjoy (it will be held in trust forever, to protect it for future generations). Even more so, to create a safe place for the animals in New Zealand who need one most. But ultimately, this will be a place that acknowledges that whilst we can’t save all of the animals in the world – evidence would indicate that each of them has the power to save us. THIS is the special connection that will be honoured at The Animal Connection. There will be cabins for children to stay, educational programmes and animal assisted therapy modalities that are proving to deliver wonderful outcomes for people, throughout the world. This is a hugely audacious plan, but I hope you will join us in creating a community hub unlike anything seen before in New Zealand. A precious place - where humans, animals and nature, all nurture each other. Please, like our page, visit our site, donate if you can – and spread the word as far and wide as possible!!! Because together we have the power to achieve great things. And we firmly believe this is worth achieving - for us, and for the next generation. This really does need to be a record-breaking crowdfunding campaign – so we need all the help we can get to get the word out. WE CAN DO IT. theanimalconnection.org.nz
