Saw Paul Simon and poet Paul Muldoon last night as part of The New - TopicsExpress

Saw Paul Simon and poet Paul Muldoon last night as part of The New Yorker Festival. Was great to get out of my suburban bubble, pull Mat away from the computer and leave the football watchers on the couch. But also great to hear the Pauls talk about creative process. The takeaway: observe life and always be open. The example: the wonderful opening line from Graceland, "The Mississippi Delta was shining like a National Guitar," inspired as Paul Simon was driving on the highway to see Graceland. You never know where inspiration will strike.
