Saw The Monuments Men last night at Edmond Town Hall with my parents and it is an excellent movie. I thought George Clooney, Matt Damon, John Goodman, Jean Dujardin, Bill Murray, Bob Balaban, and Hugh Bonneville give groundbreaking performances as an unlikely World War II army platoon who are tasked with rescuing the paintings from the Nazi thieves and returning them to their rightful owners. In addition, Cate Blanchett gives a tour de force performance as Claire Simone, the secretary in France who James Granger finds himself falling in love with. The scene when Richard Campbell gives the Nazi soldier cigarettes to distract the Nazi soldier from shooting at Richard and Preston Savitz is absolutely hilarious. A must see movie if you want to learn about World War II or if youre a fan of anyone whos in the cast. Rating 9/10.
