Say we are under attack by a determined and powerful foe. Would - TopicsExpress

Say we are under attack by a determined and powerful foe. Would we object to having gay and lesbian people fighting alongside us? Tea Party-ites, Libertarians, Democrats, anarchists? Those we don’t like or disagree with over various and sundry matters? Would we split off into military units composed of only those we agree with and approve of even though we are all committed to fighting the same enemy? Sadly, the church, though it is God’s “fighting force” (Eph.6:10-20, non-violent, of course, exercising only the “violence of love) does exactly this. Is it because we are unaware of our unity in Christ in the Spirit? Or that we are indeed in a battle? Or that God uses cracked pots as well as crackpots? Or we don’t need allies? Or it doesn’t matter to God?
