Say what, Shingle Springs?! Such an amazing, exhausting, exhilarating Nationals at Sea with @dancecelebrity! 3rd place in Category for Teen and Senior Jazz! 1st in Category for Tap, Contemporary, Large Group Jazz, and Teen and Senior Lyrical! 4th place Overall for Large Group Jazz! Pretty fierce competition and our dancers looked fantastic! Also, 100 dancers entered Star Awards, where dancers had to submit photos, an essay, participate in a dance audition, and be interviewed by a panel of 3 judges. 29 qualified for the 2nd round, and all 7 of the Foothills Dancers who entered made it! Our very own Simon Lathrop got 3rd place overall for the Juniors! Also, the 3 Judges recognized a single dancer who stood out to them throughout the competition, and Isabella Kathleen Mini was selected by one of them! We entered our Contemporary piece to be judged for choreography, and Katie Poleshuk received a lot of accolades for her creation and won 2nd place! Additionally, Vanessa Lathrop got to go on stage to receive a Studio Spirit Award in recognition of the great way our dancers and families supported each other and all the dancers throughout the cruise! Of course, I took no pictures to commemorate all these wonderful events, so please be kind enough to tag us in your posted photos! Thank you dancers and parents for ALL you did on the cruise and throughout the season to get here today. Such bittersweet feelings knowing our sweet senior Caitlin Toomey was dancing with us for the last time. So terrific that her best friend and dance sister Kaylea Melissa Ann Huhn was able to be with her and give her such a beautiful scrap book filled with lovely memories! Cant believe we have 2 weeks before we start our new season! Rest up, keep stretching, and well see you all August 4th!
