Saying ‘no’ to selfish choices and saying ‘yes’ to God’s - TopicsExpress

Saying ‘no’ to selfish choices and saying ‘yes’ to God’s commands may not be easy always, but it’s the only way to experience true and lasting joy and true evidence of discipleship; therefore, we have to say both, at times! There is no guarantee for a trouble-free life or an ‘idle’ life for a believer in this world of darkness; but we can have peace, joy and satisfaction even in the rough times when we trust in the Lord, as we share the good news of the Love of God (Psalm 112:1; 6-8; John 16:33; Isaiah 43:10; Acts 1:8). When the Lord says ‘go’, how can we say ‘no’? When He says ‘come’, how can we say ‘wait’? When the Lord says ‘work’, how can we say ‘where’? When the Lord says ‘do’, how can we say ‘how’? When the Lord says ‘speak’, how can we say ‘when’? When the Lord says ‘give’, how can we say ‘why’? We must remember that because we have been found by the Lord, we have a mission to share with the lost how we have been found by Him, and lead them to the Saving knowledge of the Seeking Jesus Christ (Matthew 15:6,9,24; Luke 19:10). The prevalent idea today is: value comes from what we do, what we earn and what we accomplish. If we believe that, life becomes a prolonged struggle to fix everything and strive for perfection in everything we do. We’ll be driven and compulsive, busier than God ever meant us to be, trying to do what He never intended us to do (John 15:1-5). To do the work of God, we must trust God to work through us.
