Says Dave Zirin: PETITION TIME PLEASE SHARE Folks - For 46 years, John W. Carlos and Tommie Smith have been banned from any functions involving the International Olympic Committee. That is the price they have paid for raising their fists on the medal stand in Mexico City back in 1968. As former Olympians, the inability to affiliate with any IOC functions has cost them untold amounts of money. Now both men are approaching their 70th birthdays and it is past time for this banning to end. I signed this change.org petition to end the Smith/Carlos ban. I am asking you to do the same.
