Scale Model TT: wwwboard.spotlighthobbies/index.pl?read=1944756&fb_source=message With plenty of detail, someone has created an accurate scale model of a Hucks Starter, derived from a Ford Model TT chassis. Named for its inventor, Capt. Bentfield Hucks, RFC, a Hucks Starter is an auxiliary power unit used at initial start-up (in lieu of hand-propping) of a piston engine aircraft. With maintenance performed by members of the Antique Automobile Club of America (Tidewater Region), the Military Aviation Museums 1919 Model TT Hucks Starter remains ready for duty. You can view this unique motor vehicle seven days a week, from 0900hrs to 1700hrs, as part of your guided tour of our WWI Hangar: militaryaviationmuseum.org/ww1-hangar.html Our thanks to Mr. Greg Layton for having shared with us this curiosity.
