Named for its inventor, Capt. Bentfield Hucks, RFC, a Hucks Starter is an auxiliary power unit used at initial start-up (in lieu of hand-propping) of a piston engine aircraft. With maintenance performed by members of the Antique Automobile Club of America (Tidewater Region), the Military Aviation Museums 1919 Model TT Hucks Starter remains ready for duty.
