Scam of the day: someone has been calling local residents and claiming to be a representative of Black Hills Power. The suspect says the power will be shut off if the victim doesnt pay right away, and asks to be paid with a prepaid credit card. A version of this scam has been making its way across the state for the last few months. Wed like to remind you never to give personal information or account information over the phone. Consumers should report attempted scams to the Attorney Generals Consumer Protection Division at 1-800-300-1986.
