Scary but true: The last post reminded me of something scary that happened to my family and I when I was a kid. I was 10 years old and we traveled by car from California to Texas to visit relatives. My sister had visited some of my Aunts for the summer and we went to pick her up and visit. On the way, the car over heated and my Dad ended up getting burned with anti-freeze. So my Mom drove the majority of the way. On the way back, there was a bad storm and we needed to stop on the border of New mexico and Arizona. We got a Motel room. My mom and my sister registered us and we had pizza delivered to the room, settled in for the night and went to sleep. Around 1am we heard the door creek and unlock. The manager of the motel was trying to break into the room, not knowing my Dad was there. I never knew my Dad to be a violent person, but he sure did beat up the guy as he tried to enter the room. We gathered our belongings and got the hell out of there. I dont remember if my Mom ever filed a police report, but it was scary.
