Scattered showers and thunderstorms early tonight will give way to partly cloudy skies overnight with areas of fog likely. A few of the storms earlier today produced heavy rain and large hail with 1 diameter hail reported near Willow Creek to the northwest of Ithaca and near Galeton in Potter County. Temperatures tonight will remain mild with lows near 60. As low pressure tracks southeast on Friday, our chances for showers and thunderstorms will drop off to about 30%. Temperatures will warm to near 80 and the humidity will remain up. High pressure will push south out of Canada this weekend with mainly dry conditions expected here in the Twin Tiers. Under mostly cloudy skies on Saturday theres only a 20% for a shower. Afternoon temperatures will be slightly below average with highs in the mid 70s. More sunshine is expected on Sunday with highs close to 80. Mostly sunny skies are expected early next week with temperatures in the lower 80s Monday and Tuesday. Mid 80s are possible by the middle part of the week with a few more clouds and the chance for thunderstorms by Thursday.
