Kuromiya’s voice of resistance was part of a collective cry vocalized by radical queer, trans, and gender variant people of color who battled imperialism, racism, the criminalization of HIV/AIDS, and the prison industrial complex from the 1960s into the 2000s. By progressive, we mean group (including faith-based), business, space, or media outlet that explicitly fights against inequality or injustice in ANY arena (disability, race, gender, LGBTQ, poverty, education, incarceration, housing, etc.). The goal is to create a website that highlights the progressive activist groups, businesses, and events in Philadelphia. Basically, we want to create a centralized directory for all of the ways that new and current citizens can get involved in the Good Fight -- this means any organization that tackles injustice in any way or lends support to those who do. Think of it as a progressive census. We need your help! The first step is to gather some basic information about lots of organizations. Then well clean it up and put it on a website. That website will allow for updates and other edits.
