Schingy launches clothing line. Budding rapper Shingirayi Schingy Mashingaidze has teamed up with his two peers, Tawanda Marimbe and Samantha Chapeta, from Midlands State University (MSU) to start their clothing line. The label, TeamBhoo, was successfully launched last week in the capital. The aspiring fashion designers are dreaming big and have already set sights for being Zimbabwe’s teen clothing powerhouse. TeamBhoo clothing line was named after the trio’s music clique and also consists of renowned hip-hop artistes and dance groups. Shingirayi Shingy Mashingaidze, a third year MSU student studying for an Honours degree in Business Management said his passion for art and design motivated him to venture into fashion with help from his colleagues. “I grew up in the town of Chitungwiza and loved fashion since I was kid (sic),” said Mashingaidze. “I have always followed fashion trends. We see ourselves as both an entertainment powerhouse and hottest clique at the moment. “Our vision and mission is to trend-set and break boundaries that may be hampering most youths from making inroads in achieving their goals. TeamBhoo represents all youths across the country and we therefore seek to educate fellow friends that anything is possible only if there is a purpose of unit (sic).” Chapeta, a 20-year-old retail management student vowed to represent the female minority in the sector. “In as much as women love to follow fashion trends, very few are keen to come up with their own labels, therefore I want to trend-set and to be exemplary to all the girls out there,” said Chapeta. TeamBhoo seeks to expand its base and have since acquired the services of renowned cliques such as SwagBakers, Swagg On Deck (SOD), Team Good Looking and Barbie Nation for all their marketing. Teenagers in Harare have found a hit in the new clothing line, as most of them storm the popular Joina City, donning TeamBhoo t-shirts, caps, jackets, shorts and woolen hats every weekend.
