Science Kids is holding a two-day “Rocks in My Head” class for kids ages 12-14. Instructor Dave Nicolarsen, a professional geologist, will lead the students in exploring and learning about geology and the rocks of our area. See a petrified forest with trees still standing as they were 75 million years ago, learn how to dig for dinosaur bones in the Sheridan College quarry south of Buffalo, learn to use lab equipment to preserve the bones, and put together and label your own display of rocks found in the Bighorn Mountains. The class is July 1-2 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The cost is $85 and all materials will be provided. Dress appropriately for outdoor activities and bring a snack, lunch, water bottle, hat and sunscreen. See science-kids.org for more information or to register. - See more at: thesheridanpress/?ai1ec_event=science-kids-rocks-in-my-head-class&instance_id=438#sthash.o2Q2lQFq.dpuf
