Scientific thought is the path to truth because it is ever-changing. It is theory tested by reason. Theories which are proven become knowledge, those which are disproved are reformed to incorporate new evidence and to be reevaluated again. Science is not a doctrine, it is a method. Science is not dogma, it is the gradual and progressive analysis of reality in search of truth. Those who would claim that science is a religion do not understand the nature of science. Until they can make that distinction, they will always be confined to rigid or prescribed beliefs and fail to recognize the true nature of the world. Without adopting rationality as the foremost guiding principle in life, human beings will consistently fail to make reasonable decisions, appropriate to our reality, which positively impact humanity and the world we live in. -- Me
