Scotland from the roadside definately includes Rhododendron - TopicsExpress

Scotland from the roadside definately includes Rhododendron ponticum - hated or loved - but no denying, beautiful when in bloom and so is gorse - both are invasive and a big problem in many places in Scotland... I live in the Faroe Islands ... And gardening is a huge challenge here.... very difficult to get rhododendrons to thrieve.. During the last 22 years I have visited Scotland 25 times - on my own, on business or arranging garden tours .. I have always wanted to bring back some R. ponticum, but haven´t been able to buy / get any....all other Rhododendrons seem to be available in liners or small pots. I am not worried that it will become invasive....as gorse is just surviving here..I must have bought and taken cuttings of 20 + gorse during the last many years...but still I only have 1½ gorses.... There are no restrictions of plant import to the Faroes, but unfortunately I am not going to Scotland this year... Any suggestions for getting some small R. Ponticum to the Faroes - Denmark would do, too, as I have lots of friends and relatives in Denmark...
