Scott Stantis informs us just how carefully the state of Illinois - TopicsExpress

Scott Stantis informs us just how carefully the state of Illinois rewrote its state constitution back in the 1970s. You know how the left likes to say that the federal constitution is a living document? Well, here in Illinois at the state level, they wrote theirs in permanent ink... Background: There were a couple of efforts at statewide referenda this year, including one to put a term limits question on the ballot. REAL conservatives told everyone - yes, including dreamy-eyed tea partiers - that the leftists that control this state would NEVER allow a binding referendum on term limits to show up on our November ballot. But it was a very clever ruse to prop up the Rauner primary campaign, and it worked for him. Now that its done its job - getting him the nomination - neither he nor the left need it, so theyll allow it to be squashed, as expected all along.
