Scottish Sun interview w/ Joy McAvoy, sister of star James McAvoy, talks about her role alongside her brother in Filth (5/28/12): Talented Joy McAvoy, 29, revealed how she’s also playing a part alongside her brother in gritty Scottish flick Filth. The Glasgow actress plays baddie Estelle in the film, which is an adaptation of Irvine Welsh’s controversial novel. James, 33, stars as depraved cop Bruce Robertson. Joy said: “It’s the first film we’ve done together and I was a bit nervous about it — not because he’s my brother but because he’s such an amazing performer. “I’d have been the same working with any actor with that talent and experience. There’s one scene where we have a really good argument with each other — but my character gets her revenge later on. James put me at ease and I learned so much from him during filming.”
