Screw princesses...Im sick of my little girl comparing herself to others based on whats beautiful (even though she always leaves herself on the favorable end of the comparison). You know what we need? Dance studios that focus on the art and fun of the dance, not the make up and the uniformity of the hair of the participants. Sports that let the best PERSON play, not best man. FEMALE comic book writers so that our strong lady comic heroes dont look like stripper sidekicks to their male counterparts, and the list could go on and on. Im not Andrew the male feminist, and I enjoy scantily clad ladies as much as the next jerk male, but there is no way that we can have an empowered people as a collective group if we continue to teach our kids that the substance is irrelevant as long as you look good doing whatever it is. Weird soap box. Weird night.
