Screwing With The Clocks Again! Oh, great--here comes another time change. At 2:00 AM on Sunday, itll magically go back to being 1:00 AM, as Central Standard Time returns. I can hear it now: Treadway, WHAT are you whining about THIS time? You get an extra hour of sleep! Well, YOU might get that hour, but I sure wont. Ill pop wide awake at the appointed moment, and Ill be an hour EARLY! Heres how that works: Some of us, by virtue of our jobs, are absolutely enslaved by the human concept of Time. There is something we must do precisely at every dang minute of every dang hour on the air--or the whole thing runs right off the rails. We are sensitive (and BEAUTIFUL) creatures who are exquisitely attuned to each passing second, and it messes us up something fierce when the government decides to honk around with what time it is! We go into physical and psychological trauma twice a year. We suffer mightily from both Spring Forward and Fall Back. It takes us DAYS to adjust and we are prone to become cranky. Er. I have had the solution to this nonsense for at least twenty years, but the Feds dont even want to know about it because it makes too much sense! Instead of turning the clocks back an hour at 2:00 Sunday morning, turn them back THIRTY MINUTES and leave them like that for ETERNITY. Problem solved. Everybody happy, happy, happy. And if the rest of the world has some issue with this country being half an hour out of step, well, you know what they can KISS! (Hint: its as big as a whole continent and its got Stars and Stripes all over both cheeks!) Now, are you ready for the worst part about this particular time change?
