Scripture Reading from Proverbs 1: (2)To know wisdom & instruction; to perceive the words of understanding, (3) To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, & judgment, & equity, (4) To give subtlety to the simple to the young man knowledge & discretion. (5) A wise man will hear, & will increase learning; & a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels: *(7)The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge ; but fools despise wisdom & instruction. *(8)My son, hear the instruction of thy father, & forsake not the law of thy mother. **(22) How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? & the scorners delight in their scorning, & fools hate knowledge? *(23)Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour my spirit unto you. *(24)Because I have called, & ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, & no man regarded; **(26)I will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; ***(27)When your fear cometh as desolation, & your destruction cometh as whirlwind; when distress & anguish cometh upon you. ***(28)Then shall they call upon me, but I will NOT answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall NOT find me: *(29)For they hated knowledge, & did not choose the fear of the Lord: **(31)Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, & be filled w/their own devices. **(32) For the turning away of the simple shall slay them. ***(33) But whoso hearkeneth unto me SHALL dwell safely.......
