Scripture and Spurgeon! (LOVE this one! Very challenging.) Charles Spurgeon said this 125 years ago-April 21, 1889 at The Metropolitan Tabernacle: I desire that you should feel resurrection power. We have many technical Christians who know the phrases of godliness but know not the power of godliness. We have ritualistic Christians who treasure the outward but know not the power. We have many moral religionists, but they also know not the power. We are pestered with conventional, regulation Christians. Oh, yes, no doubt we are Christians. They have a form of godliness but deny the power of it. I beseech you, my Hearers, be not content with a Truth of God till you feel the force of it. Do not praise the spiritual food set before you, but eat of it till you know its power to nourish. Philippians 3: 8-11 Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith— 10 that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11 that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead. -David and Leanna @RiseandStein on FB and Twitter
